I recently had the opportunity to interview Max Karreth at LinkedIn's headquarters in Mountain View, California. Besides having a great conversation with him, he also showed me around the company compound which was very cool. Max studied physics in Munich, but decided to do an internship in banking and then one at Rocket, a small tech company. To get closer to his dream of eventually starting his own company he did a masters degree in business in Madrid. About half a year ago, Max was transferred from LinkedIn in Dublin to Mountain View, which he says is the place to be if you want to work in tech. His advice is to not only look at big brand companies when applying for jobs, but to consider other factors as well, such as who is the CEO of a firm, where is it located, etc. If you are applying for one of the big companies and don't get accepted right away, keep in mind that there are many other options. Sometimes you need certain stepping stones before you reach your goal.
